Both the US and URSS aimed to expand their totally different economic and political influences over other countries. The worldwide conflict that emerged after WWII because of this fact is known as Cold War. Although tensions were incredibly high, there was never a direct confrontation between the two powers.

While the US leaded a group of capitalist states (Western Bloc), the URSS exercised its control over communist countries and formed the Eastern Bloc.

The answer is: no, because they were not democratic

The soviet union was notoriously known for adopting an authoritarian state as its form of government.

They put total control on the media, preventing  anyone from voicing negative opinion about the government. They also utilize their military to execute activists who threaten government reputation. such actions heavily contradict the democratic value that held by members of European union.

Should the United States have helped Germany following World War II? PLS HELP ASAP!!!
aleksley [76]

Answer:

Yes

Explanation:

The United States did the right decision in helping Germany after the World War II. Even though Germany was the country that caused the most damage, and it was the one that was the main aggressor, it was very wise from the United States that they helped this country after the war. The reason why it was a good decision is that it helped the country develop economically and strictly focus on it, thus improving the lives of the people. When the people have descent living and are happy they would not go to extremes because of some politician's ideology. And taken in consideration that the Germans followed Hitler mostly because they were living in terrible conditions and were desperate, this seems to be the best possible move.
