Answer:

Isolationism also called non interventionism

Explanation:

As the United States restrained from forming alliances with other European powers, it concentrated on consolidating to its interior. As such policy lasted more than 150 years, the country remained neutral to the wars that were mostly European and involved mainly the geopolitical shifts in that area.

The era of non interventionism ended as the young nation decided to participat in the World War, and today there is a strong sense of returning back to these days, as the foreign policy of the United States has turned to be very unefficent in the intervention in Irak, Vietnam, and countries that are costing too much to the general well being of the American average citizens.

Strong arguments for staying non interventionst are now supported by:

Ron Paul stance on foreign policy is one of consistent non-intervention,opposing wars of aggression and entangling alliances with other states.

Rand Paul has long opposed American intervention and foreign wars

Why were many men eager to enlist at the beginning of the war
Illusion [34]
So many men were ready to enlist because of what the war was about. In the South, men wanted to enlist so they could keep their slaves to do their work for them. In the North, men were ready to enlist because they thought slavery was wrong, as it was.
