As such policy lasted more than 150 years, the country remained neutral to the wars that were mostly European and involved mainly the geopolitical shifts in that area.

The era of non interventionism ended as the young nation decided to participat in the World War, and today there is a strong sense of returning back to these days, as the foreign policy of the United States has turned to be very unefficent in the intervention in Irak, Vietnam, and countries that are costing too much to the general well being of the American average citizens.
