Answer:

The surface of red blood cells have carbohydrates markers called "antigens". Those antigens will produce functional proteins called "antibodies" that will fight foreign invaders. Blood type A has the "A antigen" on its surface and will produce "B antibody". Blood type A cannot receive blood from any type with "B antigen" in its name because "B antibody" will see that donation as foreign type. Blood type B has "B antigen" on its surface and will make "A antibody". A person with blood type B can receive blood from types "Blood type B" and "Blood Type O". Blood type AB is the universal "recipient" because it has no blood "antibody". Blood type O is the universal "donor" because it has no blood "antigen"

How does possessing cilia, flagella, or a pseudopod directly contribute to the survival of a unicellular organism? A. By creatin
miskamm [114]

The correct answer is d. By causing movement of the organism.

Cilia, flagella and pseudopodia are structures used for movement and/or getting food. Cilia and flagella are very similar  in structure with the difference in their length (cilia-short flagella-long and how many of them are found on cells (cells  usually have hundreds of cilia while cells with flagella usually only have one or two of them). Pseudopodia is a cytoplasmic extension with the same function as cilia and flagella.

Which statement best illustrates a biotic or an abiotic factor that is often found in a park
PolarNik [594]

Explanation:

Complete question:

a.) Decaying leaves are an abiotic factor because they are not living.

b.) Rocks are an abiotic factor because they have never been alive.

c.) Water in ponds is a biotic factor, because it provides a habitat for living things.

d.) Oxygen is a biotic factor, because it is required for life and found in all living things.

option b is correct: b.) Rocks are an abiotic factor because they have never been alive.

An environment's biology includes both non-living, abiotic factors like atmosphere, water, soil, sunlight and temperature; and biotic factors which are living components of the ecosystem like plants, fungi, bacteria and animals. These factors interact within a community, and lead to a gradual change of an ecosystem over time.

Further Explanation:

The rock, is an abiotic component, made up of minerals or mineralized components; it is incapable of the mechanisms of growth, respiration, locomotion, excretion or reproduction that characterize living things.

a.) Decaying leaves are an abiotic factor because they are not living.

  • decay of plant matter involves biotic decomposers such as bacteria and fungi capable of all

c.) Water in ponds is a biotic factor, because it provides a habitat for living things.

  • water, an abiotic factor, is a fluid comprised of molecules of dihydrogen monoxide

d.) Oxygen is a biotic factor, because it is required for life and found in all living things.

  • oxygen is an inorganic gas that makes up the atmosphere, thus it is abiotic
