Doris May Lessing was a British-Zimbabwean novelist. Her novels are Children of Violence, The Golden Notebook and The Good Terrorist. she was born in Iran and later moved to Rhodesia with her family. She received the noble prize in 2007 and was the oldest person to receive it. She also won the David Cohen Prize in 2001. Due to her association with communism and anti- racist activism, she was under constant surveillance by the British government during her stay in England.
