The right option is; The body cannot make them.

Amino acids are organic compounds that perform many important roles in the body including building of proteins, and production of neurotransmitters and hormones. Based on some factors, amino acids are grouped into two; essential, and nonessential amino acids. The essential amino acids are the amino acids that the body cannot produce on its own, and must be obtained by eating various foods. The nine essential amino acids are; isoleucine, histidine, leucine, phenylalanine, lysine, tryptophan, methionine, threonine, and valine.

Glucose, labeled with 14C in different carbon atoms, is added to a crude extract of a tissue rich in enzymes of the pentose phos
horsena [70]

Answer:

A. C-1

Explanation:

During the pentose phosphate pathway, glucose 6-phosphate is first converted into 6-phosphoglucono-lactone in the reaction catalyzed by glucose 6-phosphate dehydrogenase. The 6-phosphoglucono-lactone is then converted into 6-phospho-gluconate which in turn undergoes decarboxylation to form D-ribulose 5-phosphate and the C-1 of original glucose 6-phosphate is released in form of CO2.

Therefore, to observe the most rapid production of labeled carbon atom in form of CO2, the C-1 of glucose should be labeled.

What type of evolution do you think typically illustrates analogous structures? Explain.
Airida [17]
Convergent evolution typically demonstrate analogous structures. Analogous structures are structurally similar, in the sense that each species lineages are independent, and were not inherited from the same ancestor. But they look similar and serve a similar purpose. This indicates convergent evolution.
