Answer: B) The speaker is angry that Death has taken his friend away.

Explanation: In "In Memoriam A.H.H." by Alfred Lord Tennyson, <u><em>the speaker is angry that Death has taken his friend away</em></u>. This is the poem he wrote after Arthur Henry Hallam died at the age of twenty-two from a cerebral hemorrhage. In this poem, he expresses his sense of loss and grief for his friend. He is angry with Death, his sorrow is immense. He starts thinking that the soul remains after death. The poem ends with a sense of hope that he would join his friend in heaven because there is a divine entity guiding humanity's destiny.

Which of the following story scenarios would best fit the historical context of the 14th century?
Allushta [10]
My best guess is B. The town shoemaker marries a beautiful young maiden despite the wishes of her rich family. During the 14th century, the theme of chivalric romance and love is emerging and growing in literature. It is unlikely that the other options would fit the historical context because there are no such things as trolls, young girls would never be able to survive on their own, and a sailor would not have the resources to travel to every country (particularly because not many were known during the time period).

Read this excerpt from the end of paragraph 1 of Maureen Daly's “Sixteen” and answer the question.
jonny [76]

The correct answer would be option C: "feels slightly foolish about the events that occur", this due to the way the excerpt is written, since, it seems the author wanted to let the readers know that the narrator isn't stupid, so that they keep that in mind, when they read about a foolish thing said narrator did. If the narrator did something dumb, then option A and B would be discarded, as would option D.

The sentence below summarizes an article in the print edition of the ESPN The Magazine. Which version avoids plagiarism by using
Natasha2012 [34]

Answer:

d) The Waffle House restaurant chain serves as neutral territory where fans of opposing teams can bond over a shared love of personalized hash browns (Wilson, 2017).

Explanation:

When a summary is involved, the APA style for citation always follows the format where only the author's last name and the year of publication of the source are included in the in-text citation. This explains why (Wilson, 2017) the proper APA in-text citation format is. The only time the page number after the year of publication must be included in the in-text citation is when there is a direct quote. However, because the sentence simply summarizes an article from the print edition of ESPN The Magazine and is not a direct quote, the page number is not required. As a result, the correct sentence is: The Waffle House restaurant chain serves as a neutral territory where opposing team fans can bond over a shared love of personalized hash browns (Wilson, 2017).
