The <em>correct answer</em> is:

6 balloons.

Explanation:

Let x represent the number of balloons purchased.

We will call the function for Clowns R Fun c(x):

c(x) = 1.25x+6

We will call the function for Singing Balloons s(x):

s(x) = 1.95x+2

We want the amount for Clowns R Fun, c(x) to be less:

c(x) < s(x)

1.25x+6 < 1.95x+2

Subtract 1.25x from each side:

1.25x+6-1.25x < 1.95x+2-1.25x

6 < 0.7x+2

Subtract 2 from each side:

6-2 < 0.7x+2-2

4 < 0.7x

Divide each side by 0.7:

4/0.7 < 0.7x/0.7

5.7 < x

x > 5.7

She must buy more than 5.7 balloons; the next integer up is 6. She must buy 6 or more balloons.

Given:
Clowns R fun = 1.25 per balloon + 6 for delivery
Singing Balloons = 1.95 per balloon + 2 for deliver

1.25x + 6 = 1.95x + 2
1.25x - 1.95x = 2 - 6
-0.7x = -4
x = -4 / - 0.7
x = 5.71 or 6 balloons

Clowns R Fun = 1.25*6 + 6 = 7.5 + 6 = 13.5
Singing Balloons = 1.95*6 + 2 = 11.7 + 2 = 13.7
If x is 6 = ALMOST THE SAME

Clowns R Fun = 1.25*5 + 6  = 6.25 + 6 = 12.25
Singing Balloons = 1.95*5 + 2 = 9.75 + 2 = 11.75
If x is 5 = Singing Balloons is cheaper

Clowns R Fun = 1.25*7 + 6 = 8.75 + 6 = 14.75
singing Balloons = 1.95*7 + 2 = 13.65 + 2 = 15.65
If x is 7 = Clowns R Fun is cheaper

Mrs. Travis needs to order a minimum of 7 balloons in order for Clowns R Fun to have a lower price than Singing Balloons.

Find AB, given that line AD is the perpendicular bisector of BC
astraxan [27]

Answer:

AB = 9

Step-by-step explanation:

The perpendicular bisector divides Δ ABC into 2 congruent triangles, that is

Δ ABD ≅ Δ ACD , then

AB = AC = 9

An 8-sided fair die is rolled twice and the product of the two numbers obtained when the die is rolled two times is calculated.
ELEN [110]

Answer:

(a)

\left[\begin{array}{ccccccccc} &1&2&3&4&5&6&7&8\\1&1&2&3&4&5&6&7&8\\2&2&4&6&8&10&12&14&16\\3&3&6&9&12&15&18&21&24\\4&4&8&12&16&20&24&28&32\\5&5&10&15&20&25&30&35&40\\6&6&12&18&24&30&36&42&48\\7&7&14&21&28&35&42&49&56\\8&8&16&24&32&40&48&56&64\end{array}\right]

(b)

(i)probability that the product of the two numbers is a prime number=7/64

(ii)probability that the product of the two numbers is not a perfect square=56/64

(iii)probability that the product of the two numbers is a multiple of 5 =15/64

(iv)probability that the product of the two numbers is Less than or equal to 21 =40/64

(v) probability that the product of the two numbers is divisible by 4 or 6 =42/64

Step-by-step explanation:

(a) 8-sided fair die implies each die can have outcomes 1,2,3,4,5.6,7,8 with equal chances.

To draw the possibility diagram of the product of the two numbers appearing on the die in each throw, we put the outcomes of both dies side by side and find the product of possible outcomes.

(b) probability= Number of outcome / Total number of outcomes

(i)probability that the product of the two numbers is a prime number=8/64=1/8

based on sample space, the prime numbers are 2,2,3,3,5,5,7,7

(ii)probability that the product of the two numbers is not a perfect square=56/64=7/8

based on sample space, only  1,4,9,16,25,36,49,64 are perfect square

(iii)probability that the product of the two numbers is a multiple of 5 =15/64

(iv)probability that the product of the two numbers is Less than or equal to 21 =40/64=5/8

(v) probability that the product of the two numbers is divisible by 4 or 6 =42/64=21/32

2071.5 - 307.5 ( you subtract since you only need to know the number of adults)

1764

1764/10.5 (you divide since each adult is 10.5$)
