Which of these statements is part of the teachings of Epicurus?
MakcuM [25]

Answer:

C. The way to be happy is to avoid pain.

Explanation:

Epicurus was a philosopher in ancient Greek, who developed the school of thought  known as Epicureanism. He was born in the year 341 BC and died in 270 BC. The basic idea of this philosophy is that the senses are to be greatly relied on to find explanations to several issues.

Epicurus believed that man should endeavor to avoid pain, because when there is no pain, then the greatest happiness can be achieved. His idea of the senses as a logical way of explaining issues was rejected by other philosophers who believed that, 'reason' was a better explanation of why things happen.
