8 ( x - 3 ) = *8x + -24* or *8x - 24* (theyre the same thing) what You do is just distribute the 8 to ALL numbers inside parantheses. Hence, 8 times x is *8x* and 8 times a negative -3 is *-24*. Hope i helped!

Alex has a box of pens and pencils. Of all his pens and pencils,
drek231 [11]

Answer:

a. p = n + m

where: n is the number of pens, and m is the number of pencils

b. p = 71

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the number of pens  and pencils that Alex has be represented by n and m respectively.

But,

number of pens, n = 14

number of pencils, m = 57

Then,

total number of pens and pencils, p = number of pens + number of pencils

i.e p = n + m

p = 14 + 57

p = 71

The total number of pens and pencils that Alex has is 71.

During the period 1998-2002, the number A (in millions) of books for adults and the number K (in millions) of books for kids sol
sammy [17]
If you add the two polynomials together, you will have:
C(t) = 9.5t^3-73t^2+130t+860

To find the number of books sold in 2002, we just have to input 4 for t because it is 4 years after 1998.

If done correctly, you will have 820 million books sold.

If you have 5 math textbooks, how many different ways can you arrange them on your bookshelf?
alexdok [17]
Take all five books and name them from one to five. From there you can arrange them in any order until you no longer get a different set of numbers. Start with 12345 and go from there.

example: 12345, 15234, 14523,13452 and so on.
