2. They are equivalent, because they are like terms.

3. They are equivalent because when you add b 5 times, you are multiplying b by 5.

4. They are equivalent because when you multiply 4 by x you get 4x, then multiply 4x by x which gives you 4x² Since you multiplying x by x you square x.

5. They are not equivalent because c is being added 3 times which would give you 3c then you are adding it to 7. therefore it is not equivalent

It is estimated that there are 21 deaths for every 10 million people who use airplanes. A company that sells flight insurance pr
Yuki888 [10]

Answer:

$0.79 profit per person who buys a policy

Step-by-step explanation:

For every 10 million people who buy a policy the expected outcome is

$(21*100,000) = $2,100,000 (21 deaths out of 10 million)

the expected income is

$10,000,000 ($1 per sold policy)

So the expected profit is

$10,000,000 - $2,100,000 = $7,900,000

To obtain how much the insurance company can make for each policy that it sells, we cross multiply

10,000,000 people ---------> $7,900,000 profit

1 person -----------------------> x

and

10,000,000=7,900,000/x and x = $0.79 profit per person who buys a policy

If x2 + 6x + c = (x + d)2, then d
viktelen [127]

Answer:

d = 3

Step-by-step explanation:

Expand the right side and compare the coefficients of like terms

x² + 6x + c = x² + 2dx + d²

For the 2 sides to be equal then coefficients of like terms must be equal

compare coefficients of x- terms, then

2d = 6 ⇒ d = 3

30 POINTS!!! PLEASE HELP

What is the value of a?

27.5
30
45
90
Amanda [17]

Answer:

I haven't looked at geometry in a while, but I'm pretty sure the answer is 45°

Using the vertical angle theorem, we know that the triangle with angle a is right.

Both legs of each triangle is the length of the radius. Since both legs are the same length, both triangles are isosceles. Since both legs of each triangle are the same, and both triangles are right, they are congruent triangles.

All interior angles of each triangle is 45°, making A 45°
