The Green Revolution is the name given to the period between 1950 and the late 1960s. During this time period, research throughout the world increased agricultural production worldwide. Food output increased everywhere, but this was most obvious in the developing world. Some of the strategies that were adopted during this time period were the development of high-yielding cereal grains, expansion of irrigation infrastructure, hybridized seeds and synthetic fertilizers.
