Answer:

DE = 6 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

Let DE = x cm.

Since DE is parallel to AB therefore by the alternate interior angles theorem, m∠BAD = m∠ADE and m∠ABE = m∠DEB ............(1)

As AD is an angle bisector of ∠A, therefore m∠EAD = m∠DAB ; Since BE is an angle bisector of ∠B ⇒ m∠ABE = m∠EBD.

Therefore, from (1) We get ,  m∠EAD = m∠ADE and m∠EBD = m∠BED.

So, the triangles ADE and EDB are then isosceles with AE = ED and ED = DB.

So AE = DE = DB = x, and since the perimeter of ABDE is 30 cm, then

12 + x + x + x = 30

⇒ 12 + 3x = 30

⇒ x = 6

Hence, the length of DE is 6 cm.

Answer:

DE=6cm

Step-by-step explanation:

Let x=DE, since AB║DE, therefore ∠BAD=∠ADE and ∠ABE=∠BED.        (1)

Also, we are given that AD is the angle bisector of ∠A and BE is the angle bisector of ∠B,

Therefore, ∠EAD=∠DAB and ∠ABE=∠EBD                                             (2)

From (1) and (2), ∠EAD=∠ADE and ∠EBD=∠BED

⇒The ΔADE and ΔEDB then becomes the isosceles triangle with AE=Ed and ED=DB (Sides opposite to equal angles are always equal)

Therefore, AE=DE=DB=x

We are given that the perimeter of ABDE is 30 cm, therefore,

Perimeter of ABDE= sum of all the sides of ABDE

⇒30=AB+BD+DE+AE

⇒30=12+3x

⇒30-12=3x

⇒x=6cm

Therefore, the length of DE= 6cm

Consider this figure of a hexagon.
notsponge [240]
A)
It looks like the [irregular] hexagon has 3 rectangles and 2 triangles within it.
So let's exclude the triangular corners on bottom left and top right for now.
First we have a large rectangle covering most of the upper left of the polygon. 20 ft × 7 ft = 140 sq.ft.
Now we have a rectangle on the bottom right. The width is 11 ft, so take the 7 away from that, 4 ft. × 14 ft. on bottom. 4 ft × 14 ft = 56 sq.ft.
The last small rectangle fits on the right between the 2 other rectangles. It is 24-20 on top/bottom × 7-6 right/left. 4 ft × 1 ft = 4 sq.ft.
Now for the triangles: bottom left is 11-7 × 24-14 = 4 ft × 10 ft. 1/2bh = 1/2×10×4 = 20 sq.ft.
Top right is 24-20 × 11-5 = 4 ft × 6 ft. 1/2bh = 1/2×4×6 = 12 sq.ft.

B)
Add them all together for the total area (A):
A = 140 + 56 + 4 + 20 + 12 = 140+60+32
= 232 sq.ft.

Hope that explains it well enough! ;)

What is the area of a rectangle that has side lengths of 3/4 yard and 5/6 yard
Ahat [919]

We are asked to find the area of the rectangle that has side lengths of 3/4 yard and 5/6 yard.

We know that area of rectangle is width times length.

To find the area of the given rectangle we will multiply both side lengths as:

\text{Area of rectangle}=\text{Width}\times \text{Length}

\text{Area of rectangle}=\frac{3}{4}\text{ yard}\times\frac{5}{6}\text{ yard}

\text{Area of rectangle}=\frac{3}{4}\times\frac{5}{6}\text{ yard}^2

\text{Area of rectangle}=\frac{1}{4}\times\frac{5}{2}\text{ yard}^2

\text{Area of rectangle}=\frac{1\times5}{4\times2}\text{ yard}^2

\text{Area of rectangle}=\frac{5}{8}\text{ yard}^2

Therefore, the area of the given rectangle would be \frac{5}{8} square yards.

What is the measure of the missing exterior angle?
larisa86 [58]

Answer:

the missing angle is 148°

Step-by-step explanation:
