Bone resorption is a process whereby bone matrix is ____________ by substances released by ____________ . The lysosomes inside o
Nikitich [7]

Answer:

a. destroyed

b. osteoclasts

c. proteolytic enzymes

d. hydrochloric acid

e. blood

f. low

Explanation:

Resorption is the loss of substance from any mineralized tissue, mediated by cellular and humoral systems of their own. The four mineralized tissues of our economy, bone, cement, dentin (mineralized fraction of the dentino-pulp functional complex) and enamel, offer different degrees of resistance to resorption. The bone has the greatest lability and the enamel the least. The fact that the bone tissue is the least resistant to resorption is used to move and reposition teeth by controlled forces (orthodontics); and the fact that the enamel is the most resistant has led to think that it does not suffer from resorption.

Osteoclasts They are the spring cells par excellence; they belong to the lineage of the monocitomacrophages. They are large, multinucleated mobile cells, with a clear area and a rough brush border that live for about two weeks and disappear by apoptosis (cell death programmed by fragmentation in membrane particles that allows their phagocytosis without inflammation). They are responsible for the destruction of the organic and inorganic parts of the mineralized bone fraction. They are active both in the processes of the physiological renewal of the bone and in those of its pathological loss.

Most of the nucleated cells in a multicellular organism contain all of the genetic information for the organism. Which of the fo
vova2212 [387]

Answer: Sperm cell

Explanation:

Amongst all the 4 options given, only the Sperm cell is a gamete (sex cell) while all the three are somatic cells.

 • A somatic cell is the one which forms the body of an organism and contains all the genetic information.
 • A gamete is the one which is required for the purpose of fertilization. A gamete of male fuses with the gamete of female in a process called fertilization to form a zygote to give rise to a new individual.
 • A Sperm cell is basically a male gamete. It contains only half the amount of genetic information as the other half is contributed by the female gamete.
 • This difference in the amount of genetic information arises due to the type of cell division that occurs. The somatic cells undergo mitosis whereas a gamete requires meiosis to occur for its formation.
 • During mitosis there is a single round of cell division which divides the parent cell into two daughter cells each with the complete genetic information.
 • During meiosis the cell undergoes two rounds of cell division such that a total lf 4 cells are produced each with half the amount of genetic material as present in the parent cell.

Since, sperm is a male gamete and is formed by meiosis it contains only half the genetic information as compared to the other cells.

Is the creation of genetically unique offspring by two parents?
viktelen [127]
The answer is sexual reproduction in which the creation of offspring by fertilization consisting 2 haploid gametes come together to form a diploid zygote with a new genetic combination. The main difference between sexual and asexual reproduction is that asexual reproduction results in a genetically identical offspring whereas sexual reproduction results in a unique offspring in which offspring with a new genetic combination.
