y=x+1.75

substitute for y in equation 2.

4x-2(x+1.75)=4

4x-2x-3.5=4

2x=7.5

x=3.75

y=3.75+1.75

y=5.5

Answer all of the questions please
kakasveta [241]

Answer:

Domain (-2,3)

Range (-10, 20)

Function: Definitely

Step-by-step explanation: So check it right. Starting with Domain how far do our values go in the x direction positive and negative in this case the farthest to the left is -2 and to the right is 3. For range same thing but now we look at the y axis -10 is lowest and 20 is the highest. Open circles don't affect our domains or range but they are important for determining functions. This is a function because going up and down the graph vertically at any points doesn't collide with any point more than once. If the open circle were closed then this would not be a function but in this case it is a function.

The function can be used to find the volume of air inside a basketball given its radius. What does V(r) represent?
AveGali [126]

Answer:- B. the volume of the basketball when the radius is r

Explanation:-

  • A function is a special relation where each input(independent variable) has a single output (dependent variable).

Given: The function can be used to find the volume of air inside a basketball given its radius.

Here Independent variable= r→ radius of basketball

Dependent variable(depends on radius)= V(r)→ Volume of basketball when the radius is r.

shakira invests $500000 at 5% compound intwerest per annum . calculate how many years it takes for the value to double in value?
Kay [80]

Answer:

t=14.2\ years

Step-by-step explanation:

we know that

The compound interest formula is equal to

A=P(1+\frac{r}{n})^{nt}

where

A is the Final Investment Value

P is the Principal amount of money to be invested

r is the rate of interest  in decimal

t is Number of Time Periods

n is the number of times interest is compounded per year

in this problem we have

t=?\ years\\ P=\$500,000\\ r=0.05\\n=1\\ A=\$1,000,000

substitute in the formula above  and solve for t

1,000,000=500,000(1+\frac{0.05}{1})^{(1)t}

2=(1.05})^{t}

Apply log both sides

log(2)=log[(1.05})^{t}]

log(2)=(t)log(1.05)

t=log(2)/log(1.05)

t=14.2\ years
