Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Answer:

In 4 months the two plans will cost the same.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let m represent the number of months of usage of phone

Let C represent the total amount charged by the plans.

Plan A:

Plan A charges $40 for a new phone and $20 for per month usage.

Fixed charge = $40

Per month usage charge = $20

Usage charges in dollars for m months will be = 20x

Thus total charges C in dollars can be given as:

A) C=20m+40

Plan B.

Plan B provides the phone for free, but has a fee of $30 for per month usage.

Fixed charge = $0

Per month usage charge = $30

Usage charges in dollars for m months will be = 30x

Thus total charges C in dollars can be given as:

B) C=30m

In order to determine the number of month in which the two plans will charge same we will equate the equations.

Substituting equation B in equation A.

30m=20m+40

Solving for m

Subtracting both sides by 20m

30m-20m=20m-20m+40

10m=40

Dividing both sides by 10.

\frac{10m}{10}=\frac{40}{10}

∴ m=4

Thus, in 4 months Plan A will cost the same as Plan B

The lines of the equations are parallel, perpendicular, or neither. y = 2x + 3 y = 2x 1)parallel
Murrr4er [49]

Answer:

Parallel

Step-by-step explanation:

Parallel lines:

     The parallel lines have same slope.

y = 2x + 3

Compare with slope y-intercept form of the line: y = mx +b

  m is slope and b is the y-intercept.

slope of this line = 2

y = 2x

Slope = 2

These lines have same slope. So, they are parallel.

Is 8 a solution to the equation below? Yes or No?

3(x - 2) + 4 = 22
Simora [160]

To see if 8 is the solution to the equation, 3 (x - 2) + 4 = 22, you must replace x with 8 and solve using the rules of PEMDAS (Parentheses, Exponent, Multiplication, Division, Addition, Subtraction) REMEMBER: IF NOT APPLICABLE TO THE EQUATION YOU MAY SKIP THAT STEP IN PEMDAS . If the sides are equal to each other then 8 IS a solution.

3(8 - 2) + 4 = 22

Parentheses...

3(8 - 2) + 4 = 22

8 - 2 <<<In the parentheses so you must solve first

6

so...

3(6) + 4 = 22

Multiplication...

3(6) + 4 = 22

3 * 6

18

so..

18 + 4 = 22

Addition...

18 + 4 = 22

18 + 4

22

so...

22 = 22

Are they equal to each other? YES!!!

8 is a solution to the equation 3 (x - 2) + 4 = 22

Hope this helped!
