If you add one of the side it is 5+5 that =10 and then you add the other side it is 4+4 that =8 and after that you add both sides 10+8=18 and then you have to subtract 27-18 the length equals 9 inches

5 plus 5 would be 10

4 plus 4 would be 8

so if I add 10 by eight I would get 18 and then subtract that from 27 which would give us 9 inches

fifth side= 9 in.
