ANSWER

1a)

The given system of equation is:

3x - 6y =  - 12...(1)
and

x - 2y =  - 8...(2)
We make x the subject in equation (2) to get;

x = 2y - 8...(3)

We put equation (3) into equation (1) to get;

3(2y - 8) - 6y =  - 12

We expand the bracket to get,

6y - 24 - 6y =  - 12

6y - 6y = 24 - 12

This implies that,

0 = 12

This statement is false.

Hence the system has no solution.

1b)

Let us write the two systems in the slope-intercept form;

For the first equation, we have
3x - 6y =  - 12

Thus implies that,

- 6y = - 3x- 12

y =  \frac{1}{2} x + 2

For the second equation, we have:

-  2y =  - x - 8

y =   \frac{1}{2} x  + 8

We can see that, the two equations are parallel since they have the same slope.

Also the two equations will never meet since they have different y-intercepts.

Hence the system has no solution.

Explain the 'price effect' for normal 'substitutes' and 'complementary' goods.
Rashid [163]

Answer:

When the price of a good that complements a good decrease, then the quantity demanded of one increases and the demand for the other increases. When the price of a substitute good decreases, the quantity demanded that good increases, but the demand for the good that it is being substituted for decreases.

<h3>What is standard error for the distribution of sampling proportions?</h3>

In mathematics, the difference between a data set and the populace's true average is known as primary data deviation from the mean.

According to the National Postsecondary Student Aid Study conducted by the U.S.

Department of Education in 2008, 62% of graduates from public universities had student loans.

We randomly select 50 students at a time.

Then the standard error for the distribution of sampling proportions will be

\rm Standard\  error = \sqrt{\dfrac{p(1-p)}{n}}\\\\Standard\  error = \sqrt{\dfrac{0.62(1-0.62)}{50}}\\\\Standard\  error = 0.0686

More about the standard error for the distribution link is given below.

Vesna [10]

Answer:

6 bundles

Step-by-step explanation:

4 friends each made 9, so you multiply 4*9 to get 36

each bundle has 6, so divide 36 by 6. and get 6 bundles.

4*9=36

36/6=6
