"the best predictor of the future is the past" Mark Twain

the United States during the start of the war took an isolationist outlook on the world and it took the bombing of Pearl Harbor to break that outlook. Also the war showed the failure of the league of nations and the policies it stood for. The war showed failure in all nations that needed to be changed and still to this day needs to be changed

Which of the following is an example of a right or freedom guaranteed by the Bill of Rights?
Nonamiya [84]

The correct option is (b) the right to speak your mind in private or in public.

The aforementioned right is one of the rights that is necessary to be granted to every citizen for the proper functioning of a democratic political institution. Every citizen within a democratic framework is entitled to an expression of his or her opinions, and to freely choose their representatives within the government institutions. Freedom of expression means the right to express an opinion by an individual, group or organization at any place and time, without compromising on the natural boundaries of speech and civility. This also gives individuals and newspapers the right to critically assess the actions of the government, and make carefully informed choices on the basis of that. Mandating personal freedoms by the Constitution prevents the Government from committing an excess of its powers, and overturning of the democratically constructed political structures.

Further Explanation:

The Bill of Rights reflects the Constitution’s democratic framework in guaranteeing the personal freedoms of the citizens of the United States. The Bill of Rights has been carefully crafted to mould the political institutions of the United States into as democratically that might be possible. It has been divided into sections that guarantee personal freedoms, which are exercisable equally by all citizens, and they are also judicially safeguarded, which means any violations to these rights by any other individual, organization or institution can be challenged in a court of law. The Bill of Rights also contains certain checks and balances, that prevents the Government from committing any excesses of its powers. The apprehensions of the Anti- Federalists have also been addressed, as the Bill of Rights clearly mentions the Federal legislative subjects, and the subjects that are not specified for Federal Legislation have been mandated for State legislation. It has been surmised that States should be able to identify regional concerns and legislate on appropriate solutions.
