A. ADVANTAGES
There are some advantages that are attached to having judges on the bench without fear of been removed, these advantages include the following:
1. The judges will be able to operate freely, because political pressure of been removed from their positions will not be there to deter them from taking the right decisions even though the decisions may be unpopular.
2. Judges do not have to be bothered about re-election and campaign, this will increase their focus and help them to be effective in carrying out their jobs.

B. DISADVANTAGES
The disadvantages of having permanent judges include the following:
1. Permanent judges may be prone to corruption. Judges who know that their positions are secured may be tempted to engage in corrupt practices that are politically wrong.
2. Because of the permanency of the position, the judges may be tempted to ignore laws and even to create new laws which will favor their course.
