What was the King's Privy Council? What was it's play in the House of Burgesses?
Margaret [11]

The Privy Council was a select group of advisers that gave direction to the king on where to locate and how to maintain and operate the royal system of privies, which today we would refer to as outhouses, or portapotties. It enabled and facilitate greater debate in the House of Burgesses, in that members were better able to pop out for quick use of the restroom, as opposed to having to formally call to recess to use a chamber pot back at their lodgings. I hope this helps!

what government inspectors investigated the claims made by Upton Sinclair in The Jungle, they found that
Tpy6a [65]
Upton Sinclair's novel, The Jungle, was written to show the world how cruelly and harshly immigrants in industrialized cities were treated in the early twentieth century. At first, the claims that Sinclair made in his novel were thought to be outlandish and over exaggerated. However, when government officials actually looked into the claims, they found that conditions were even worse than what Sinclair had said. Hope this helps.

What was a positive result of the protests during the Arab Spring of 2011?
notka56 [123]

This supposed to be multiple choice? Only positive of the Arab spring in my opinion was the Tunisian revolution, they were able to, by popular uprising, oust the corrupt government of Zine El Abidine Ben Ali and have a peaceful and relatively stable transition of Democratic elections. No other country that experienced uprising can say the same.

Why did the Byzantine empire have such a successful economy
KIM [24]

The Byzantine Empire's economy has always been regarded among the most strongest in the Mediterranean for several centuries. Their solid presence in Constantinople gave them a significant advantage as it was the center of a trading network that ran all throughout Eurasia into North Africa. With trading as their stong suit and a State that tightly controlled both internal and foreign transaction, they were set up for success. The one factor that set them apart has to be their inmplementation of coinage, which consolidated a monopoly around the Byzantine empire.

Hope this helps!

Which two sentences describe a condition that was common to Germany and Italy before unification?
stiks02 [169]

Answer:

 1. They were divided into many states, some of which were ruled by foreign leaders.
 2. They allied with other foreign powers during wars to promote the goal of unification.

Explanation:

• The unification of Germany was a historical process that took place in the second half of the 19th century in Central Europe and culminated in the creation of the German Empire on January 18, 1871, bringing together several previously independent states (Prussia, Bavaria, Saxony, etc.). Before the formation of a unified national state, the territory of Germany was divided into a political mosaic of 39 States. Between them they emphasized, by their economic and political importance, the Austrian Empire and the Kingdom of Prusia.

• The Unification of Italy was the historical process that throughout the nineteenth century led to the union of the various states in which the Italian peninsula was divided, mostly linked to dynasties considered "non-Italian" such as the Habsburgs or the Bourbons.
