Why is Caesar considered a round character in The Tragedy of Julius Caesar?
AlexFokin [52]
He is considered a round character as opposed to a flat character because he is portrayed to have more depth than a character that might show up in one scene. This requires giving us time and information to know him. Think of a round character as you or a member of your family and a flat character as somebody you just met at the grocery store. Yes, their might be more to the person at the grocery store but you only are seeing so little that you only know them as another person. So, the correct answer is - Caesar is multifaceted: he is stubborn and proud, and the plebeians adore him, while the senators hate him. His story line is essential to the plot.

tester [92]

Hello. Unfortunately, you did not submit the excerpt that the question refers to. This makes it impossible for me to show you the correct answer. However, I will try to help you as best I can.

The only way to answer this question is to read the excerpt it is related to. As this excerpt is not available to me, it is you who will need to read it. When reading the excerpt, you need to identify which textual element is being highlighted to convey something about the text. If the element being highlighted is a dialog, your answer is the first option. If the element being highlighted is the characterization of a character, your answer is the second option. If the element being highlighted is a sequence of successive events, the third option is your answer. If the element being highlighted is the setting, the fourth option is your answer.

Why do the leaders of the town believe that Pearl could be a negative influence on Hester in the book The Scarlet Letter
Vlada [557]

Pearl is a very conflicting character. Her attitude and actions can be interpreted in many different ways as she has a remarkably multi-faceted personality. We see she's a very special and intelligent child, but often her behavior shows glimpses of a darker side as she seems to hurt Hester's emotions on purpose at times. It'd be easy to interpret Pearl as the personification of Hester's sin and a negative force in her life, like many leaders of the town do. But we have to remember she's just a child, and ultimately ends up helping her mother to move on.

Hope this helps!
