For mitochondria where an uncoupler for oxidative phosphorylation is present, which statement is TRUE?
olga nikolaevna [1]

Answer:

The correct answer is statement d.

Explanation:

In oxidative phosphorylation that takes place in mitochondria, the uncouplers prevent the coupling in between the phosphorylation reactions and electron transport, and therefore, prevent the synthesis of ATP without influencing the ATP synthase and respiratory chain.

The uncoupler always exhibits its influence on the synthesis of ATP. The 2,4-dinitrophenol functions as an uncoupler at the time of oxidative phosphorylation. The NADPH and FAD functions as an electron carrier.

Consider the motion diagram. It illustrates a car's velocity (V) and acceleration (A). Determine is there is a change in either
aleksandrvk [35]

Answer:

Change in velocity: yes

Change in acceleration: no

Explanation:

The diagram of the problem is missing: find it in attachment.

In the diagram, there are represented:

- The velocity of the car, as a vector labelled with V

- The acceleration of the car, as a vector labelled with A

The directions of the vector represent the direction of the velocity and the acceleration, while the length of the arrows represent the magnitude of the two quantities.

We observe that:

- For the velocity, the direction is always to the right; however, the length of the arrow decreases, so the magnitude of the velocity keeps decreasing

- For the acceleration, the direction is always to the left; and the length of the arrow remains constant, therefore the magnitude of the acceleration does not change.

This means that the car is moving to the right, but it is slowing  down, since the direction of the acceleration is opposite to the direction of the velocity.

Anemia is a condition where there is deficiency in healthy red blood cells or hemoglobin resulting in pallor or weakness. It results in low level of hemoglobin which is the protein that transports oxygen around the body. Lack of oxygen in the body will result to weakness, shortness of breath and dizziness. Nikoleta's symptoms of malaise, lethargy and being tired is usually caused by too much work of the heart. In anemic patient, the heart has to pump faster than normal because it has to supply red blood cells around the body. Since the heart is working double-time, it usually results to being tired, lethargic and malaise of the person with anemia. Nikoleta's pale skin is attributed also on the fact that she has low supply of red blood cells around the body. If Nikoleta is lethargic and always tired, little things may irritate her immediately, hence, her being cranky
