Answer:

Cytochromes may be defined as the  the proteins that are required for the process of electron transport chain. These cytochromes molecules helps the oxidation, reduction and transfer of electrons during the electron transport chain.

Aerobic organisms has nearly equal identical structure in all organism. All organism that contains cytochromes has heme as a cofactor. Ring system of cytochrome is present with iron as the main element in almost all organism. These cytochromes shows the conserved sequences that are common to almost all the organism that contain cytochrome molecule.

Cytochromes:- They are iron containing hemoproteins that serve many cellular functions including energy production, steroid biosynthesis, and degradation of toxins.

Cytochromes occur in all organisms except a few obligate anaerobes. They are structurally similar among organisms. These are proteins to which one to two tetrapyrrole rings are bound. These tetrapyrroles are very similar to the chromophores of chlorophylls in plants. However, chlorophylls(in plants) contain Mg++ as the central atom in the tetrapyrrole, whereas the cytochromes(in aerobic animals) have an iron atom (Figure).

ATP or Adenosine triphosphate contains adenine, ribose and 3 phosphate groups.

ADP is converted to ATP by the following reaction:

ADP+Pi+energy⇄ATP

The analogy between battery and ATP can be explained as ATP is higher energy form and ADP is lower energy form like charged and uncharged form of the battery. When the terminal or third phosphate is removed from the ATP it becomes ADP and releases energy like a battery. The additional phosphate group when added to ADP forms the ATP molecule like the energy spent by the batteries are recharged by putting in additional energy. Here the additional energy is provided by the third phosphate group.

Heredity is a term that refers to something we have gained from our parents, they can be some physical traits like appearance or behavioral traits like generosity, ethics etc.

When we talk about development of an individual, science has proved that both heredity and environment play a crucial role. There is no doubt that certain things are predetermined in our genetic make up like our height, weight and complexion etc but there are several ways in which environment influences and modifies those traits.

Let's take some examples:

  • A kid is born in Africa whose parents inherited just appropriate and ideal height and intelligence to him, But he was surrounded by the conditions where he could not get sufficient food , minerals and nutrients that hindered  not only his physical growth and development but his intelligence level did not reach that potential too that was predetermined in  his genes. So, we can say that environment influenced the kid and modified the traits he inherited from parents.
  • Similarly, there are many boys that inherit fair complexions from their parents but they have a lot of sun exposure due to out door sports and activities. So, parents observe that after teens their complexion is getting towards darker tone although in preadolescence they were just as fair as other siblings. This is proven by studies that sun exposure turns the skin tan and darker than original tone.

Therefore, we can say that both Heredity and environment play an important role in determining human development and behavior.
