Answer:

k=-2

Step-by-step explanation:

Given matrix

A=\left[\begin{array}{ccc}4&2\\-1&2\end{array}\right]

And

B=\left[\begin{array}{ccc}2&4\\-2&k\end{array}\right]

We need to find the value of k, that will make AB=BA.

Let us find AB

AB=\left[\begin{array}{ccc}4&2\\-1&2\end{array}\right]\times \left[\begin{array}{ccc}2&4\\-2&k\end{array}\right]

AB=\left[\begin{array}{ccc}4&16+2k\\-6&-4+2k\end{array}\right]

Now, let us find BA

BA=\left[\begin{array}{ccc}2&4\\-2&k\end{array}\right]\times \left[\begin{array}{ccc}4&2\\-1&2\end{array}\right]

BA=\left[\begin{array}{ccc}4&12\\-8-k&-4+2k\end{array}\right]

Put AB=BA

\left[\begin{array}{ccc}4&16+2k\\-6&-4+2k\end{array}\right]=\left[\begin{array}{ccc}4&12\\-8-k&-4+2k\end{array}\right]

In order to make AB=BA, the 16+2k=12\ and\ -6=-8-k should be equal. As other two values are equal that are 4\ and -4+2k

By solving each equation

16+2k=12\\2k=-4\\k=-2

And

-6=-8-k\\-k=-6+8\\k=-2

We can see if the value k=-2 then AB=BA

The number of accidents per week at a hazardous intersection varies with mean 2.2 and standard deviation 1.4. This distribution
ankoles [38]

Answer:

a) Normal Distribution

b) 0.146

c) 0.070

Step-by-step explanation:

We are given the following information in the question:

The number of accidents per week at a hazardous intersection varies with mean 2.2 and standard deviation 1.4

a) \bar{x}: mean number of accidents per week at the intersection during a year (52 weeks)

According to central limit theorem, as the sample size becomes larger, the distribution of mean approaches a normal distribution.

Since we have a large sample, the approximate distribution of \bar{x} is a normal distribution with

\text{Mean} = 2.2\\\text{Standard Deviation} = \displaystyle\frac{\sigma}{\sqrt{n}} = \frac{1.4}{\sqrt{52}} = 0.19

b) P(mean is less than 2)

Formula:

z_{score} = \displaystyle\frac{x-\mu}{\sigma}

P(x > 610)

P( \bar{x} < 2) = P( z < \displaystyle\frac{2 - 2.2}{0.19}) = P(z < -1.052)

Calculation the value from standard normal z table, we have,

P(\bar{x} < 2) = 0.146

c) P(fewer than 100 accidents at the intersection in a year)

P(x < 100)

P( \bar{x} < \frac{100}{52}) =P(\bar{x} < 1.92) =P(z < \displaystyle\frac{1.92 - 2.2}{0.19}) = P(z < -1.473)

Calculation the value from standard normal z table, we have,

P(x

nataly862011 [7]

Answer:

116°F = 46.67 °C and 6 Pounds = 2721.55 grams

Step-by-step explanation:

The information given in the question is 1°F = -17.22°C

1 Kilogram = 1000 grams = 2.2 pounds

And we have to convert 116° F to degrees Celsius and Six pounds to grams.

1) We know (°F-32)×5/9 =°C

So by putting the value of °F as 116 ⇒ (116-32)×5÷9 = °C

⇒ °C = \frac{(84)(5)}{9}

⇒ °C = 46.67

2). ∵ 2.2 Pounds = 1000 grams

     ∴1 Pound = 1000/2.2 = 454.54 grams

    ∴ 6 pounds = 6× 454.54 grams

                        = 2721.55 grams

Answer:

I believe the answer is- The mean and MAD can accurately describe the "typical" value in the symmetric data set.

Step-by-step explanation:

The other answers don't make sense because the mean and MAD are being used for symmetrical distributions and asymmetrical means uneven distributions.
