What is the main sugar used by cells for energy?
butalik [34]

Answer:

The answer is GLUCOSE.

Explanation:

Glucose is the main sugar used by cells for energy. Glucose is derived from the digestion of carbohydrates. In humans, glucose is usually absorbed into the blood from the small intestine, the blood then carry the blood around the body, allowing each cell to have access to the glucose it needs.

If the quantity of glucose in the blood is more than needed per time, the body usually store the excess glucose as glycogen, the glycogen will be turned to glucose and release for cell use when the quantity of sugar in the blood is low. In the absence of glycogen, other macro nutrients such as lipids and proteins can also be converted to glucose via gluconeogenesis when the concentration of glucose in the blood is low.

The cells oxidize the glucose and convert it to energy in form of ATP, which they use to carry out their life activities.

Homeostasis involves the maintenance of constant conditions in an organism. What might happen to a protein if homeostasis is dis
meriva
This was answered else where on Brainly, and this is what they said,

"Most proteins in the living organisms are enzymes and they required specific optimum conditions in order to function optimally. Disruption in the homeostasis will leads to deactivation of these proteins. For instance, if the temperature needed for a protein to work optimally has been exceeded, the protein may be denatured and will be unable to perform its needed functions, this may result in several adverse effects in the organism."

A student decided to investigate the effect of pH on the activity of the enzyme lipase , five different test tubes are set up ,e
castortr0y [4]

Answer:

the pH

Explanation:

The condition that should not be kept the same in each of the five test tubes is the pH.

Since the aim of the experiment is to investigate the effect of pH on the activity of the lipase enzyme, the pH is, therefore, the independent variable. Thus, it must be controlled or varied in all the test tubes in order to see its effect on the activity of the enzyme, which, in this case, would be the dependent variable.

Does female sperm and male sperm look different
nikdorinn [45]

Answer:

the Y chromosome is smaller than the X chromosome.

Explanation:

The male has an X and Y sex chromosome which is an exception to the general rule that homologous chromosomes are identical as the Y chromosome is smaller thus enabling it to swim faster than the X chromosome. The Y chromosome also has a longer lifespan compared to the X chromosome. The male genotypes is XY. Males are heterogametic as they produce two types of gametes, one carrying the X and the other carrying a Y chromosome.
