So here's my "translation" of each of the passages:

A. I'm really in love you, Romeo, and I really am telling the truth!
B. I'm so in love with you I forgot how to count, and I think three is four. Regardless, if you really do love me, tell me tomorrow and we can get married then.
C. Unless you're about to change your mind about loving me, don't say that you love me like something that changes, because that means that your love for me will change.
D. Darn, I really love you, so much that I'm murderous towards you, and I can barely handle being away from you.

Okay, those were more for comic relief, but they were very, very loose translations of those snippets of texts. So, with them, we can clearly see that C is the right answer.

Which statement best describes how the authors’ purposes are similar?
pav-90 [236]

An author can have several purposes for writing and it is primarily his reason for or intent for writing a certain piece. It could be to inform, entertain, amuse or persuade a reader.

An author's purpose is the reason or motivation for writing a text. When a reader knows an author's purpose, it allows for response to text and matching of texts to specific needs.

What is a purpose?

A purpose is known to be the reason for which something is done or created to exist.

An author's purpose can be reflected in the way he writes and clues about identifying a writer's purpose can be found in titles, prefaces and the author's background.

Hence, we can see that the question is incomplete as there was no text or excerpt given to indicate the similarity. A general answer was given to guide you.

Lines 69–76: What inference can you make after reading these lines? What text evidence supports your inference?
cluponka [151]

Answer:

It can be inferred that Allen believes the case of flag-burning can be handled just like any other case and all the opinions on the topic are all welcome.

The text evidence is "not treating the flag-burning case like the simple case it is".

Explanation:

Based on the given lines, it can be inferred that Allen shared his opinion and he believes that the specific case could be analyzed in a manner that is similar to those used for other similar cases. This is based on the line in the text as quoted above. The suggestions from everyone on the specific issue can be tabled and considered.
