The May 19 article "Neurosurgeons in short supply" did an excellent job pointing out the effect of soaring insurance rates on ne

urosurgeons and other specialists.
Consumers/patients should be aware these costs have risen dramatically for all physicians, not only a few. These higher costs, largely the result of lawsuits, are affecting the cost of and access to basic health care. The truth is that over half of all medical malpractice cases are closed without any action against the doctor. This means that many of the cases had no merit to begin with.
Fighting even a baseless lawsuit costs money and time. And time spent in the courtroom is time the doctor isn't spending in the examination room.
Next time those who doubt a lawsuit abuse problem exists need medical care, they should hope their own doctor isn't tied up in the courtroom or been forced out of business.

fredd [130]

Ah yes, im glad to help you

Self-love is one of the most important types of love you can recieve. Before feeling compassion for others, feel compassion for your self. Love every part of yourself too, even your vulnerable parts. Theres something that I saw in a Ted-talk, she said "You cant get rid of specific feelings, if you get rid of sadness, you get rid of happiness too, which can make you miserable." This is important to remember, dont beat yourself up because you feel sad about something. Embrace it and move on.

Hope this helps!

Have a great day!

Which of the following sentences uses parallel structures?
irga5000 [103]
The sentence that uses parallel structures is B) My three favorite activities are writing, reading, and going to the library.
A parallel structure means that the same form of a verb is used in a sentence, and as you can see, here only gerunds are used - writing, reading, going - they all have -ing in the end.
The other sentences don't have a parallel structure because they don't use the same forms.

I've answered a question exactly like this before... what are the odds!

Gregor didn't seem to surprised , the text explicitly states. "How about if I sleep a little bit longer and forget all this nonsense." Meaning that he wasn't to worried about the transformation. The only time he did act surprised was when he answered his mom after she knocked on the door, " Gregor was shocked when he heard his own voice answering, it could hardly be recognized as the voice he had had before." That's why I feel like Gregor was maybe even used to being transformed, because he did not act very worried, or surprised.
