I would say the Internet. The Internet has helped to connect people digitally around the world. It provides quick sources of entertainment and information.
If we want to know what's airing at the nearest cinema we can just look it up. If we want letters to be sent quickly that can happen in a second.

This depends on the century you are referring to. If you mean the transition from the 1800s-1900s, then perhaps the most important invention was the telephone, the locomotive or electricity. All of these inventions transformed the way we communicated with one another, lived our daily life, and travelled.

If what you mean is the transition from the 1900s to the 2000s, then the most important invention is most likely the Internet. The Internet has allowed us to unite the world in a way that has never been seen before. Information can travel faster than ever, communication has been revolutionized, transactions have become extremely simple and our world has become digital.

Four advantages corporations brought to the American consumer included
Travka [436]
One of the advantages was that the old mom & pop stores were no longer practical, because the corporations were more convenient. You didn't have to ride around to go to seven stores anymore, you would just go to the big-block store and get everything you needed there. Furthermore, corporations provided a large amount of unskilled jobs - previously, the largest part of the "American dream" was to go and start your own business, farm, etc., but now you could go get a job at a factory or supermarket, so the job market was diversified. Those are just two, but I'm sure you can think of more!

China's geographic features separated it from other civilizations. Write a paragraph explaining the advantages and disadvantages
Sliva [168]

Advantages:

From a conservative or state-based ideology: it is much easier to control population since they rarely receive "strange" ideas or influence from outside. Domestic policies become much more important. In so, it becomes easier to set popular aims targeting citizens.

The country could(historically seen) stand the best defense against outside powers which could try to set an invasion. For example, the Great Wall of China turned out to set a strong defense against Mongols and other menaces along many centuries.

Disadvantages are listed:

Trading with other countries can influence negatively on economic growth, as there is no autonomous country even if it results as big as China.

Trade has become key in today's globalized world, henceforth the need to collaborate or cooperate in economic exchanges is a necessity to keep up the pace in global affairs.
