Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

x + y = 4  ---------------(i)

x = 4-y

7x + 9y = 42 -----------(ii)

Plug in x = 4-y in equ (ii)

           7*(4 - y) + 9y = 42

             28 - 7y +9y = 42

                   28 + 2y = 42

                           2y = 42 - 28

                           2y = 14

                            y = 14/2

y = 7

x = 4 - y

x = 4 - 7

x = -3

Answer:

use system of equations

x+y=4

7x+9y=42

if we want to solve for y first

then multiply the first equation by 7 to cancel out x

 7x+7y=28

- 7x+9y=42

-2y=-14

y=7

to solve for x just input y into the equation

choose any equation u like from one of the two

x+7=4

x=4-7

x=-3

single die is rolled twice. Find the probability of rolling an oddodd number the first time and a number greater than 33 the sec
givi [52]

Answer:

\frac{1}{4}

Step-by-step explanation:

A single die is rolled twice, we have to find the probability of rolling an odd number in first throw and a number greater than 3 in the second throw.

a) Rolling an Odd number in first throw

A die has total 6 possible outcomes, out of which 3 are odd numbers i.e. 1,3 and 5

So, total number of possible outcomes = 6

Total Favorable outcomes (Odd numbers) = 3

Probability is defined as the ratio of favorable outcomes to total number of outcomes. So,

The probability of rolling an odd number would be = \frac{3}{6} = \frac{1}{2}

b) Rolling a number greater than 3 in second throw

Here again total possible outcomes = 6

Favorable outcomes (Numbers greater than 3 are 4, 5 and 6) = 3

So,

The probability of rolling a number greater than 3 =  \frac{3}{6} = \frac{1}{2}

These two events(rolls) are independent of each other, so the overall probability of both events occurring would be the product of individual probabilities.

So,

Probability of rolling an odd number the first time and a number greater than 3 the second time = \frac{1}{2} \times \frac{1}{2} = \frac{1}{4}

Rs 2,or 2%profit

Step-by-step explanation:

the price he marked:

100 \times  \frac{120}{100}  = 120

(20 percent more than cost price)

The discount he put: 15 percent

120 \times  \frac{85}{100}

Rs102

102 is 2 more than 100

and is 2%profit.

Contact [7]

Answer:

8.6

Step-by-step explanation:

To find the distance between two points we use the formula posted below

All we need to do is figure out what the points are on the graph and plug them into the formula... we end up with

the square root of (5-(-2)^2+(2-(-3)^2 and get the answer of 8.602325267

then we round to the nearest tenth and get 8.6
