720 mi. in 4.5 hrs is 160 mph.
720 mi. in 6 hrs is 120 mph.

Now flying with a tailwind the wind speed is added to the airspeed. Flying with a headwind it's subtracted from airspeed.

So find the difference between 120 and 160, that's 40, and divide that in half, and that's your wind speed, 20 mph. So the airspeed of the airplane would be 140 mph.

3 tomatoes cost $1.29<br><br> How much will 5 tomatoes<br> cost?
wolverine [178]

Answer:

$2.15

Step-by-step explanation:

Since 3 Tomatoes cost $1.29

Then let's first find how much is 1 Tomatoes.

To do that we have to divide Cost by # of Tomatoes

3/1.29 = 0.43

Thus, 1 Tomatoes Cost 0.43

Now, the question is: How much will 5 tomatoes cost?

Therefore, 0.43 * 5 =2.15

Hence, 5 Tomatoes cost $2.15

Find the volume of a cone with a diameter of 18 meters and a height of 20 meters
MakcuM [25]

\huge \sf \color{pink}{A} \color{green}{N} \color{red}{S} \color{blue}{W} \color{orange}{E} \color{grey}{R}

\large \underline{  \boxed{ \sf{✰ \: Important \:  points  }}}

\pink{➢} Diameter of cone = 18m

\pink{➢}Height of cone = 20m

\pink{➢}A surface of revolution formed by rotating a segment of a line around another line that intersects the first line.

\pink{➢}Cone is basically formed by circular base

\underline{  \boxed{ \sf{➫\: Volume\:of\:cone =  \frac{1}{3} {r}^{2} \pi \: h}}}

\underline{  \boxed{ \sf{ ➪ \: r = radius}}} \\\underline{  \boxed{ \sf{ ➪ \: h = height}}}

\pink{➢} We know that radius is half of diameter

\sf \:➩ r =  \frac{18}{2}  \\    \sf \: ➩r =  \cancel \frac{18}{2}  \\  \sf \: ➩r = 9 \:  \:  \:

\pink{➢}Hence radius of cone in data given is 9m

➢ Let's substitute values according to formula

\sf \: → \frac{1}{3}  \times   {(9)}^{2}\times 3.14  \times20 \\  \sf→ \frac{1}{3}  \times 81 \times 3.14 \times 20 \\  \sf \: → \frac{1}{ \cancel3}  \times  \cancel{81} \times 3.14 \times 20 \\  \sf→27 \times 3.14 \times 20 \\ \sf \: →1695.6m

\pink{➢} Hence volume of cone =1695.6m

Hope it helps !

Max Possible Area
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The nax area to an area closest to a square

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Find length to give nax possible area
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Perimeter = 50 yards
Length = 50 ÷ 4 = 12.5 yards

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Find max possible area
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Max possible area = 12.5 x 12.5
Max possible area = 156.25 yard²

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Answer: The dimension would be 12.5 yd by 12.5 yd which gives the max area of 156.25 yd².
