1) resources extracted by colonists (maybe less so now, but still) and so not available to the natives of the reason, going instead to China or whoever is doing the extracting now.
2) Tough, dirty, dangerous job to do the actual mining. Tough - wears down the miners. Dirty - will cause long term damage, like black lung. Dangerous - both mining accidents and possible danger from dealing with the greedy.
So, to summarize, the risks are publicized to the regional people, the rewards are privatized to whoever has the power.</span><span>

Extrovert tend to be more likely engage in social interractions which improve the probability of having close emotional relationship with other people.
Introverts on the other hand, are tend to avoid social interraction which reduce their probability to have a meaningful relationship and increase the probability of depression.

Louisiana, like most southern states, seems really angry about losing the civil War. The war was mainly fought over the right to own slaves. Once they were free, owners didn't know what to do with their lives anymore. These laws were made so that they could keep Free African Americans oppressed while still following the laws of the federal government. The hate for people of color actually increased after the war since they could no longer fully own them as property. The laws actually acted like a sign to free slaves saying "You will never be free".
