Solution, \frac{5}{16}\cdot \frac{24}{15}=\frac{1}{2}\quad \left(\mathrm{Decimal:\quad }\:0.5\right)

Steps:

\frac{5}{16}\cdot \frac{24}{15}

\frac{24}{15}=\frac{8}{5},\\\frac{8}{5}\cdot \frac{5}{16}

\mathrm{Multiply\:fractions}:\quad \frac{a}{b}\cdot \frac{c}{d}=\frac{a\:\cdot \:c}{b\:\cdot \:d},\\\frac{5\cdot \:8}{16\cdot \:5}

\mathrm{Cancel\:the\:common\:factor:5,\\}\\\frac{8}{16}

\mathrm{Cancel\:the\:common\:factor:}\:8,\\\frac{1}{2}

Answer:

1/2

Step-by-step explanation:

First, write out the product.  Then, reduce as far as possible:

5       24         5(1)(4)(6)

----- * ------- = ---------------   Here, the 5s cancel, and so we get:

16       15         5(3)(4)(4)

4(6)

----------

3(4)(4)

Here, the 4 in the numerator cancels out one of the 4s in the denominator:

 6

------

12

and this last result reduces to 1/2.

Remark
What this is trying to tell you is that you have two factors. Each in turn can be zero, but they cannot be zero at the same time. You will get that kind of question, just not now.

So either - n = 0 or 5n - 4 =0

Solution
- n = 0     Multiply both sides by - 1
(-1)*(-n) = 0*-1
n = 0

5n - 4 = 0   Add 4 to both sides.
5n = 4        Divide by 5
n = 4/5

Comment
B and D are both wrong 4/5 is positive. and those list n as -4/5 which is wrong.
A is wrong because the function will not go to 0 if n = -1

What is the slope of the line?
SashulF [63]

Answer:

The slope is 2

The y-intercept is 3

The equation is y = 2x +3

Step-by-step explanation:

The equation goes up 2 squares and over 1 square. 2/1 = 2

For y-intercept, look at the y-axis

The equation is supposed to be written as y = mx + b

m being the slope and b being the y-intercept.

A researcher studies length of time in college, first through fourth year, and its relation to academic motivation. To get the m
skad [1K]

Answer:

A researcher studies length of time in college, first through fourth year, and its relation to academic motivation. To get the most detail out of her measures, she assesses each student in both the fall and spring semesters of each of their four years in school. She finds that students have increasingly higher motivation from their first semester to their seventh semester (the start of their fourth year), with a trailing off in the last semester. The independent variable are:

  • Semester in school
  • Year in school

Step-by-step explanation:

  • The dependent variable in the given scenario is academic motivation as she is researching on academic motivation so this factor is influencing the results.
  • The semester and year in school are independent variables as these two factors are not influencing the results or research.
