However, it also supports aspects such as the viability and maintenance of the upright posture of the trunk, allowing agility and movement of the upper and lower limbs; acts in the protection of vital organs and viscera provided with the help of the ribs; promotes absorption and dissipation of mechanical shocks and gravitational pressure; protection of the branched portion of the central nervous system (medulla).
