Bacteria reproduce through binary fission

A scientist examine a bacterium

The offspring created by bacteria with this gene will be resistant to the medication. The reason is that the bacteria reproduce by binary fission. If anyone carries a gene which makes it resistant to antibacterial medication.

Then its offspring will be resistant because in binary fission, DNA replicates and seperate. DNA replicates which possess the gene which makes it resistant to antibacterial medication then offspring will have that DNA which possesses such gene. Binary fission is a type of asexual reproduction.

Aneli [31]

Answer:

GlnA will be overexpressed and the cells will have more glutamine than glutamate

Explanation:

Glutamine synthetase (glnA) is an enzyme involved in nitrogen metabolism that catalyzes the amidation of glutamate to glutamine. Moreover, the phosphorylated form of the NtrC response regulator protein (NtrC~P) acts as a transcriptional activator of genes associated with nitrogen metabolism, including glnA. NtrC~P exhibits 1-an enhanced DNA binding activity (increased oligomerization on the target DNA template) and 2-ATPase activity (oligomerization of the NtrC phosphoprotein), which are fundamental features for transcriptional activation. In consequence, it is expected that a higher level of NtrC~P (due to a defective form of the phosphatase that dephosphorylates NtrC~P) leads to the overexpression of glnA, thereby increasing glutamine levels and simultaneously decreasing glutamate concentration.

I think the answer is asexual reproduction because this produces organisms that are identical to the parent, which I think is the same as having genetic similarities

Which of the following is NOT a method of hormone action? a) control of ion or molecule transport across cell membranes b) contr
Vika [28.1K]

Answer:

e) all of the above are methods of hormone action

Explanation:

Hormones are the chemicals that are secreted by endocrine glands mostly. They serve to regulate physiological processes. Most of the lipid-soluble hormones such as steroid hormones enter the target cell to bind to their cytosolic or nuclear receptors and alter the expression of genes. These hormones stimulate the expression of some genes and inhibit that of others.

Binding of hormones to the cell surface receptors associated with ion channels regulates their opening and closing and thereby affects the membrane permeability. Likewise, the active hormone receptor complexes regulate the electrical signaling pathways of muscles and neurons.
