Complementary colors are those that, within the circle of colors, are positioned opposite to each other. In general, they serve to decrease the intensity of the colors and obtain neutral or gray colors when mixed. They also show greater contrast to each other and absorb more of their spectra.
When compared, they show greater contrast to each other, for example, yellow and violet (purple).
