1. Answer: Approximately 146 minutes (or if you need the simplified version the answer is 2 hours and 26 minutes). Step-by-step explanation: Step 1. Two classes of 21 students. To calculate that you would multiply 21 by 2. 21*2=42 Step 2. So now we know you need 42 individual pictures. If they each take 3 minutes to take you need to multiply 42 by 3. 42*3=126. So now you know it’ll take 126 minutes to take all the individual pictures. Step 3. Now, there are 2 classes of people and it takes 10 minutes to take each class picture. So do calculate that you need to multiply 10 by 2. 10*2=20. So it’ll take 20 minutes to take both class pictures. Step 4. Now we know it’ll take 126 minutes to take all the individual photos and 20 minutes to take the class photos. Now to calculate the total amount of time it’ll take to take all the photos you need to add 20 to 126. 126+20=146. So, it’ll take 146 minutes to take all the photos. Step 5. (You can skip this step if no simplification is needed in your problem) So, we all know there is 60 minutes in an hour so we’ll divide 146 by 60. 146/60=2.43. So, now we know it’ll take 2.43 hours to take all the photos. 2.43 hours is 2 hours and 26 minutes. I hope this helps!

Measures of a Data

From the question, we are to determine the minimum, lower quartile, median, upper quartile, maximum, and interquartile range of the given data set

The given data set is

48, 50, 54, 56, 63, 63, 64, 68, 74, 74, 79, 80

Minimum = 48

Lower quartile = (54+56)/2

Lower quartile = 110/2

Lower quartile = 55

Median = (63+64)/2

Median = 127/2

Median = 63.5

Upper quartile = (74+74)/2

Upper quartile = 148/2

Upper quartile = 74

Maximum = 80

Interquartile range = Upper quartile - Lower quartile

Interquartile range = 74 - 55

Interquartile range = 19

Hence, for the given data set

Minimum = 48

Lower quartile = 55

Median = 63.5

Upper quartile = 74

Maximum = 80

Interquartile range = 19

7) David bought a computer that was 20% off the regular price of $1080. If an 8% sales tax was added to the cost of the computer
Aneli [31]
Hello there! I can help you!

7. Okay. So the computer was originally $1,080, and the discount is 20%, but David would still have to pay 80% of the original price. To find the sale price, let's multiply. 1,080 * 80% (0.8) is 864. The sale price of the compuet is $864, but now we must add the sales tax to find the total price. We will multiply by 108%, because 100% (representing the price + 8% is 108%, and doing this will get us stright to the total price. 864 * 108% (1.08) is 933.12. There. David paid a total price of $933.12 for the computer.

8. Okay. So we are looking for the amount of discount for the sweater Suzanne bought. First off, let's subtract the prices to find the difference. 40 - 25 is 15. Now, let's divide that by 40 (the original price) to find the discount. 15/40 is 0.375. Or 37.5% when converted into a percentage. There. Suzanne received a 37.5% discount on the sweater when she bought it.

9. So the car was bought for x dollars. 0.88 represents 88%, so the value of the car is 88% of the previous year. An expression that is a way to describe the change in car value is x * (100 - 0.12)^t, because you car loses 12% of the remaining value each year, which leaves 88% of it remaining, and having the t as the exponent represents the number of years. That expression helps find the value of the car currently and can help you compare the values.
