The correct answer is A. The Rhineland

Explanation:

The Rhineland is a zone along the Rhine river that crosses Germany in the West. During history, his zone has been of great importance because it has been under the control of different empires and nations due to its strategic location in Europe.

In this way, years before World War I and during it, the territory was controlled and militarized by Germany. However, as Germany was defeated and the Treaty of Versailles was signed Germany had to demilitarized the zone and this t was occupied in 1918 by forces of the Allies that included France, the United States, and Great Britain as part of the Treaty of Versailles. Additionally, the zone as militarized once again as Germany violated the Treaty in 1936. This implies the zone that was demilitarized by Germany because of the Treaty of Versailles as The Rhineland.
