A food that is high in a macronutrient broken down by trypsin is fish. Trypsin is an enzyme whose function is to break down protein.

EXPLANATION:

Trypsin is an enzyme which is produced by the pancreas in an inactive form. The inactive form of trypsin is called trypsinogen. Trypsinogen enters the small intestine through the common bile duct and is converted into active trypsin. In the digestive system, trypsin helps the human body to digest protein. Trypsin, in the small intestine, breaks down proteins. The broken-down protein will be spread out to all parts of the human body.

Due to trypsin function which is to break down protein, the type of food digested by trypsin is a protein-rich food. Food that is high in protein or macronutrient in the question is fish. Bread is rich in carbohydrates. Fruit contains fiber and sugar. Margarine is rich in lipids. So, the right answer is fish.

Other than fish there are protein foods include:

• Egg

• Seafood

• Dairy product (milk, yogurt)

• Meat product (lamb, pork, chicken, beef)

• Nuts

• Soy and tofu products

• Pulses and beans

Pro tips for protein:

• Include fish to the meal 1-2 times per week. Try salmon or canned tuna on sandwiches or crackers or salad

• Choose lean meats

• Add legumes like lentils or chickpeas to curries or bolognaise sauce
