They rely on me pretty much. I have an older brother so it's not that much but I do a lot for my family. I think that if they relied on me less I would never learn to be responsible for myself or anyone else.

In chapter 26, when Scout tries to talk to Jem about Miss Gates she mentions the courthouse. Jem grabs Scout and tells her never to mention that courthouse to him again. Jem is still very upset about what happened to Tom Robinson. He believed that the jury would find Tom innocent because Atticus proved that he did not hurt Mayella. Jem's innocent outlook on life was stolen from him that day and he has yet to deal with it emotionally. Atticus tells Scout, "don't let Jem get you down."
When they were reading <em>Gone with the Wind</em>, Johnny points out that the characters in the novel remind him of Dally. Johnny feels that Dally is so real. He thinks that Dally is just like his big brother because Dally was always there for johnny. Dally always kept him away from troubles because he cares for Johnny. In Dally's world, Johnny is the only person that he cares for. He doesn't want Johnny to be cold-hearted and mean like himself. So Johnny feels that Dally is just like his big brother.
