Many people don't realize that Hitler came to power legally; he did not overthrow an existing government or seize power through

the military. Hitler was elected by the German people. Do you think that people in the United States would ever elect someone like that? Why or why not?

Answer:

Yes, I think the United States of America can likely elect someone like Hitler if there are misguided government policies and developments – like runaway government spending, soaring taxes, more wars, inflation and economic collapse.

Explanation:

Adolf Hitler came into power legally but on the wings of crisis.

He sought for opportunities where there was an outbreak of crisis in order to unleash his quest for power.

Also, his main talent seemed to be as a speech maker. He utilized that talent very well in giving speeches that appealed to Germans embittered and disillusioned by the outcome of the war.

He maintained a non-stop agitation for power. He travelled constantly, giving speeches throughout Germany.

He needed another crisis for a shot at gaining political power.

Crisis broke out at a time.

This was as a result of succession of misguided policies created obstacles to enterprise and brought on the Great Depression.

Also, the government promoted deflation.

It went to the point of fixing prices at above-market levels that discouraged consumers from buying, and also fixed wages at above-market levels that discouraged employers from hiring.

Government-sanctioned cartels restricted competition. There were high taxes which made it harder for people to save and invest.

High tariffs throttled trade.

All these policies made it harder for the economy to grow.

It was on the wings of this crisis, Hitler gained power in Germany.

Considering United States, if there is an outbreak of economic collapse due to misguided government policies and the people sees someone who rises up to challenge the status quo of the day, like Hitler, they

will most likely elect him.

Answer:

It is possible that US people might select someone like Hitler

Explanation:

In the treaty, Germany was made responsible for starting World War I and it had to face serious allegations also. The economic condition was quite disturbed due to this

Hitler from the nationalist party Nazi spoke highly against German sanctions and he got into popularity and gained confidence of local people. Therefore he was an elected leader rather someone who forcefully led Germany.

Now comparing that to US, there are few occasions when US researchers compared its rule with Nazi rule. Under the current leadership of Donald Trump, a famous Holocaust Mr Christopher Browning has written an article in the New York Review of Books stating US democracy might be on the verge of a period similar to Nazi rule. Hence people do compare and there might be chances of leader in US like Hitler

Describe two features of the original constitution that have led to a growth in the power of the national government.
Oksanka [162]

A feature of the original Constitution that led to the growth in power of the national government is the elastic clause. Also known as the "necessary and proper" clause, this section of the Constitution gives Congress the power to make any laws they consider "necessary and proper" in regard to carrying out their other tasks, which has allowed the power of the national government to expand over the years. Another feature that had this effect was the vagueness of the president's powers in Article II of the original constitution. Left up to interpretation, the President's powers have expanded greatly and, being the head of the national executive branch, with it the power of the national government.
