Why is it helpful to set a purpose for reading?
makvit [3.9K]
From my my experience this usually differs depending on the type of book it is, but I think the best choice is either A, to help the reader understand new concepts, or C., It allows the reader to focus on key ideas and information during the reading. I'd pick C though, since it's more in depth and makes more sense.

B. doesn't make that much sense unless the book is an argumentative or a persuasive book.

D. only applies to personal narratives. Nobody can understand a writer's personal experiences and attitudes otherwise.

Hello. This question is incomplete. The complete question is in the attached figure.

Answer:

The letter C is the right answer.

Explanation:

The author wanted to show two different arguments related to the benefits that music is capable of transmitting to children in relation to academic results. In doing so, the author shows that he did extensive research and was committed to showing both sides of the argument to his readers in an impatient and completely informative way.

Len [333]

Answer:

The correct answer is D: She became very well accustomed to life among the Americans.

Explanation:

In this passage, we can see that Alvarez became accustomed to life in the United States. She was a popular kid and she enjoyed hanging out with American children and felt comfortable when she was surrounded by her friends. She also ignored her family and cousins, their tradition, their native land, and all she wanted is to be on her own and pursue her dreams in America, as Judy Alcatraz.
