When the bar magnet is broken in half two resulting halves both have north and south magnetic pole. In the place where it was broken there are opposite magnetic poles. One of two hlaves would be attracted by magnet on the right and another would be reppeled.

Answer:

There would be attraction and repulsion by the two halves on the magnet.

Explanation:

A magnet consists of aligned number of tiny magnets called magnetic domains. The alignment produce the north and south poles at the two ends of a solid magnet.

When a magnet is broken into two parts, each half forms a complete magnet on its own. The point where breakage occur would have opposite poles, and the magnetic moment of each piece is half the magnetic moment of the original bar magnet. Thus, each part has a tiny north and south pole.

So bringing each piece in the neighborhood of the magnet on the right would either attract or repel the magnet.

Paraphin [41]

Answer:

Spreading axis

Explanation:

Oceanic crust is constantly being pushed horizontally away from the ridge crest toward an oceanic trench. This ridge crest is known as spreading axis or spreading center. The phenomenon itself is known as seafloor spreading. Seafloor spreading as a theory was first proposed by Harry Hess in 1962. He proposed that sea floor moves, as well as continents. The seafloor moves at a rate of about 1-24 cm per year.
