Answer:

2.5

Step-by-step explanation:

so LM is 3 right, right?

so PQ is 6

what they did to get that is they doubled 3 so 3x2=6

so if we divide 5 by 2 we get 2.5 because 2.5+2.5= 5

and that is how i got 2.5

The Randall farm has 22.82 acres. The Schneider farm has 22 7 over 8 acres. which farm is larger?
Marysya12 [62]

let's convert the mixed fraction to improper fraction, and then check.

\bf \stackrel{mixed}{22\frac{7}{8}}\implies \cfrac{22\cdot 8+7}{8}\implies \stackrel{improper}{\cfrac{183}{8}}\stackrel{\textit{to decimal}}{\implies }183\div 8\implies 22.875 \\\\\\ \begin{array}{rrll} Randall&Schneider\\ \cline{1-2} 22.82&22.875\\ 22.820&\\ 820&875 \end{array}\impliedby \stackrel{\textit{so as you can see}}{820 < 875}\qquad \qquad \stackrel{therefore}{22.875 > 22.82}

I know the answer is C. but I need to know how to solve it!
otez555 [7]
Yes you are right it's C)
Notice  that f(-2) = (-2)³ +2( - 2)² + 4(-2) + 8 =0
Then x³+2x²+4x+8 is divisible by (x+2)
Perform this division & you will get:

x³+2x²+4x+8 = (x+2)(x²+4)
The root of (x+2) is the value that render it nil, that is x=-2
The root of (x²+4) are imaginary (not real) because
  x²+4 =0 ==> x² = -4 & x=√-4 or x= 2i (nor real).
Hope you understood the reasoning

Can someone explain the quadratic formula please?
brilliants [131]

Answer:

While factoring may not always be successful, the Quadratic Formula can always find the solution. The Quadratic Formula uses the "a", "b", and "c" from "ax2 + bx + c", where "a", "b", and "c" are just numbers; they are the "numerical coefficients" of the quadratic equation they've given you to solve.

Two farmers each have triangular plots of land in the diagram below with approximate values shown for lengths in feet
Ray Of Light [21]

Answer:

  • a) Plots are similar
  • b) x= 5577 feet

Step-by-step explanation:

<em>Refer to attached</em>

<h3>Question</h3>
  • a) Are the plots of land similar?
  • b) Find to the exact value of x and rounded to the nearest tenth?
<h3>Solution</h3>

The small triangle have missing angle of 180° - (52° + 58°) = 70°

This is indicating both triangles have same 3 angle measures.

Since all angles are same, the triangles are similar.

<u>Corresponding sides, against corresponding angles are:</u>

  • 6180 and 8240
  • x and 7436

<u>As per property of similarity, the ratio of corresponding sides is same</u>

  • 6180/8240 = x/7436
  • x = 6180*7436/8240
  • x = 5577 feet
