Answer:

1/20

Explanation:

The question is 1/4 ÷ 5. First, we can make 5 into 5/1 to make the question easier to solve. Remember, in order to divide two fractions, you have to flip the divisor (second number in a division sentence) by making 5/1 into 1/5. After flipping the divisor, you then have to multiply the two fractions the regular way you multiply them: multiplying the top number with the other top number (numerator x numerator) and the bottom number with the other bottom number (denominator x denominator). That is how you get the answer of 1/20.

Answer:

A. Setting

B. deux ex machina

C. Satire

D. Etymology

E. Characterization

Explanation:

Setting does not only refer to the place where the story or event occurred, it also refers to the time period and sometimes the mood as well. It helps to establish the circumstances in which the event had occurred. It also support reasons to as to why events unfolded the way they did.

Deux ex machina means "god from the machine", coined by the Greeks. As a literary device, it is when a character or an event is introduced to resolve the conflict of the story, when the story seems unsolvable. People debate whether this is a good literary device, as it seems like a last-ditch attempt of the writer to bring out a happy ending. Although, this device works well as a comedic twist.

Satire is a literary device that highlights the faults, short-comings, or vices of humans. The intent of the use of this literary device is to shame individuals or groups, by ridiculing their follies, as an attempt to improve them.

Etymology is the study of the history of words and how it has changed over time. It studies how words were derived or where they were derived from, tracing it back to the earliest period it was first used or when it occurred first.

Characterization is a literary deviced used to introduce a character. The author could directly describe the character as an introduction, describing their physical features and demeanor. The characters can also be described through the perspective of the character themselves, or even through other characters or interactions within the story.

These texts are excerpts from the musical my fair lady and the play Pygmalion Which statements correctly describes a difference
zheka24 [161]

Answer:

Hello. You did not show the texts to which this question refers. However, I can make a strong difference between the play "Pigmalion" and the musical "My fair lady" is that the musical features the pronouncing exercises "the rain in Spain stays mainly in the plain" and "In Hertford, Hereford, and Hampshire, hurricanes hardly ever happen ", while the play does not present these exercises.

Explanation:

"My fair lady" and the play "Pygmalion" tell the story of Eliza, a girl who grew up on the outskirts of her city and cannot speak the English language correctly, presenting several pronunciation errors. However, she starts taking classes with an academic and strong connoisseur of the standard language that teaches her to speak correctly and promotes many changes in her life.
