<u>Answer</u>:

1. <u>Phosphorus</u>  in soil originates from (white arrows):

- plant residue,

- animal manures and biosolids

- atmospheric deposition (dust)

- mineral fertilizers

These sources all add to the phosphorus found in soil in both organic or inorganic forms.

2. <u>Phosphorus</u> from soil is released to (red arrows):

- <u>organic phosphorous</u> through:

<em> -->plant uptake</em> in the form of soluble P. This soluble form has several of its own sources such as primary minerals,  mineral surfaces, secondary compounds etc.

--> <em>immobilization</em> where microorganisms convert and absorb inorganic P

- <u>phosphates in solution</u> through:

-->runoff and erosion

-->a small portion though leaching

In eukaryotes, what would happen if the tata box became mutated to tgta?.
saw5 [17]

Answer:

Here is the answer

Explanation:

The TGTA mutation in the TATA-box completely inactivated the promoter, making component one non-functional. This non-functional module became transcriptionally active in the presence of the component two that expressed TBPm3.

2. What is the function of DNA and RNA?a.Store and transmit hereditary informationb.Provide the body with quick energyc.Help to
gladu [14]

Sugar from carbohydrates provide the body with quick energy. Lysosomes help to build and digest molecules in the body. Lipids store energy long term, provide insulation, and cushion organs.

The function of DNA and RNA is to carry genetic information. They are both involved in protein synthesis. DNA encode the amino acid residues sequence in a protein by the use of genetic code. The cells will make a copy of DNA in the RNA to be able to read the genetic code.

Answer - a. Store and transmit hereditary information

Type II survivorship curves Your answer: are characteristic of humans and elephants. typify a population in which all ages have
Natalka [10]

Answer:

b. typify a population in which all ages have an equal chance of surviving. → YES

e. are typical of annual plants → YES

Explanation:

Different species have survival curves differently shaped. In general terms, there are three different survival curves.

  • Type I. Mortality often occurs at the end of the cycle, representing species with low mortality. Organisms exhibiting this type of survivorship curve have long cycles of life and high probabilities to survive until they are old enough. These species have few descendants and spend too much time and energy in parental care to ensure their reproductive success.
  • Type II. The probabilities of dying are equals all along the cycle, at any age interval. The number of dead individuals remains constant from the beginning to the end of the life cycle. These species have reduced offsprings, and they ensure their reproductive success by providing some significant parental care.
  • Type III. Significant mortality during the early stages of life. Only a few individuals reach the later life stages, getting to survive their first period of life. Survivors usually have a long life. These species produce big offsprings at the same time, but they provide little or no parental care. Their reproductive success relies on the number of descendants.

Type II survivorship curves:

a. are characteristic of humans and elephants → No, this is Type I curve

b. typify a population in which all ages have an equal chance of surviving. → YES

c. indicate a high mortality rate in the very young. → No, this is Type III curve

d. show that very few young are produced, that each is given parental support, and that most  individuals live a relatively long life and die of old age. → No, this is Type I curve

e. are typical of annual plants → YES

What is the relationship between temperature and the dissolution of ocean water salts?
BaLLatris [955]
