The iris is a pigmented muscular curtain found near the front of the eye and between the cornea and lens. It is perforated by an opening known as the pupil. The location of the iris is found in front of the eye lens and the ciliary body and posterior to the cornea. It is bathed in a fluid called as the aqueous humor.

The iris consists of two sheets of smooth muscles with opposing actions: dilation/expansion and contraction/constriction. The primary function of these muscles is tho control the size of the pupil and modulates how much light reaches the sensory tissue of the retina. The sphincter muscle of the iris is a rounded muscle that constricts the pupil whenever there is a bright light, whereas the dilator muscle expands the eye opening when it contracts.

Therefore, the answer is D. SMOOTH AND INVOLUNTARY because first of all the types of muscles that comprises the muscles in the iris are smooth and it is involuntary because they eyes auto-regulates the light that comes to it without our conscious effort.

List at least two possible reasons for the differences you see between the pinch strength of the first two fingers and the secon
andriy [413]

Answer:

The first two fingers may be stronger due to the fact that they are used the most often and could build up more strength and dexterity. Another reason the first two fingers may be stronger could be due to the fact that the ulnar muscle that controls digits 4 and 5 is smaller than the radial muscle.

Explanation:

Pinch strength is a widely used measurement of hand function. A direct relationship between pinch strength and function has been demonstrated and illustrates the importance of hand strength in clinical practice. There is a difference in grip strength in the dominant and non-dominant hands.Dominant hand  is significantly stronger. According to the pinch strength data, he index finger and the thumb are the strongest, the middle finger and the thumb are the second strongest, the ring finger and the thumb are the third strongest, and the little finger and the thumb are last. The difference is the largest between the middle finger and the thumb and the ring finger and the thumb.

The first two fingers may be stronger due to the fact that they are used the most often and could build up more strength and dexterity. Another reason the first two fingers may be stronger could be due to the fact that the ulnar muscle that controls digits 4 and 5 is smaller than the radial muscle.

Difference in the pinch strength may be due to one possible reason that the radial muscle is larger than the ulnar muscle which controls digits 4 and 5. Another reason could be that you generally use the thumb, index, and middle fingers more than the ring and little finger, therefore the first three fingers have more strength and muscle memory.

Traditional ecological knowledge is A. rarely shared in local languages B. not well known in the West because some species and e
Alex73 [517]

Answer:

Option-C

Explanation:

Traditional ecological knowledge is the knowledge acquired and adapted by the local or native people living in a particular area.

The traditional knowledge is gained by the holistic approach of gaining the knowledge that is which benefits survival and increases the chances of well being.

The approach aims at learning by making direct contact with the surrounding environment, learning its ways, understanding the relationship between the various factors and then adapting to the condition and utilizing the available information.

The traditional way aims at looking at the environment in whole but the modern way of understanding the environment aim by learning the environment in the components.

The traditional knowledge is always shared by the local people in their local language but since the ideology of gaining the knowledge differ in both the ways and TEK is shared in local language therefore sometimes the knowledge does not prove useful in the contemporary world.

Thus, Option-C is correct.
