It's a half circle plus a triangle.
The diameter of the circle is 23.1 ft so the radius is 11.55

Area of a circle is πr²
Area of a triangle is (1/2)bh

Area shape = (1/2)πr² (1/2)bh
A = (1/2)π(11.55)² + (1/2)(23.1)(29.4)
A = 549.1181

WHAT IS THE CORRECT SCALE FACTOR?
topjm [15]

Answer:

3/7

Step-by-step explanation:

To find the scale factor we have to compare the initial points to the final points, we can do this by observing only one corner of the triangle, as it will apply to the entire triangle.

<u><em>Let's look at C and C'</em></u>

The coordinates of C are (7,-7)

The coordinates of C' are (3,-3)

<u><em>To make things simpler let's find the relationship between our x-coordinates, then test it on our y-coordinates</em></u>

We essentially have to find what 7 is multiplied by to get 3, we'll make an equation

7x=3

Solve for x by dividing both sides by 7

x=3/7     <------- This shows that our scale factor in this case is 3/7

<em><u>Now we will test this on our y-coordinates</u></em>

-7(3/7)=-3

\frac{-7(3)}{7}=-3?

The 7's on the top and bottom simplify to -1

-1(3)=-3?

-3=-3 <------- This is true! So we know this is our scale factor for the entire triangle

Hope I could help!

If 2 cubic feet of sand weigh 90 pounds, how much do 5 cubic feet of sand weigh? what is the actual answer
nasty-shy [4]

Answer:

175

Step-by-step explanation:

It is much easier if you use the unit rate, so we'll convert the first senta\ence into a ratio. 2 cubic feet:90lb. you need to get 1 cubic foot, so divide both sides my 2, 1 cubic foot:35 pounds. now, to get five cubic pounds(See where this is going?) you multiply both sides by 5.  5 cubic feet:175lb

(these idoits make you go back and forth in solving problems)

What is the answer to this equation using substitution x+y=1
FromTheMoon [43]
{   x + y = 1    * ( - 2 )
  2 x + 3y = -4

- 2 x - 2 y = - 2
  2 x + 3 y = - 4
_______________
         y = - 6

Subsititute y = - 6
<span>
2 x + 3 y = - 4

2 x + 3 * (-6) = -4

2 x - 18 = - 4

2 x = - 4 + 18

2 x = 14

x = 14 / 2

x = 7

The solution  to the system of equations are:

x = 7 and y = - 6

hope this helps!</span>
