Peter The Great moved the Capital of Russia to St. Petersburg and helped modernize the country into a thriving nation. He sent Russians to western schools so that they returned as experienced man, he stimulated the industry and commerce, he promoted metallurgy as a new industry and soon became a top producer in cast iron melting. He helped create the modernized russian nation we know today.
