It removed the Missouri Compromise, allowing states to decide for themselves whether they could enslave people.
Explanation:
The Kansas–Nebraska Act of 1854 was a territorial organic act that created the territories of Kansas and Nebraska. It was drafted by Democratic Senator Stephen A. Douglas, passed by the 33rd United States Congress, and signed into law by President Franklin Pierce. Douglas introduced the bill intending to open up new lands to develop and facilitate the construction of a transcontinental railroad, but the Kansas–Nebraska Act is most notable for effectively repealing the Missouri Compromise, stoking national tensions over slavery, and contributing to a series of armed conflicts known as "Bleeding Kansas".
The Spanish-American War brung a need for a shorter route between the Pacific and Atlantic oceans.
To make this a bit simpler, to get to like california in America, or parts of Africa back then, you had to sail ALL THE WAY AROUND South America which by boat takes around 9 months.
Imagine your aunt Beckie sending you a birthday present from Africa in 1905
and it not getting there till 9 MONTHS LATER
A canal build across Central America would make global shipping much faster and cheaper. It also allowed to move from ocean to ocean during war.
Basically they didn’t want to, or have time, to sail 9 months around South America every time they needed to get to the other ocean during the war, so they dug a big canal for boats to sail through as a shortcut.
I hope this helps!
and it not

Russia and Germany signed a Non-Aggression Pact in which they promised never to invade one another, but Hitler went back on his promise and sent troops to attack Russia. Big mistake. Despite studying Napoleon and his defeat in Russia, Hitler still decided to invade and was caught off guard by the Russian winter. Germany lost thousands of soldiers to illness and frostbite and exhausted all of their supplies and to top that off Germany suffered a huge loss at the Battle of Stalingrad and surrendered in 1943. If these events hadn't occurred, the probability of the Axis Powers winning WWll would have been much greater, or the Allied may not have won by such a large margin.
