21 chickens and  23 goats=44

21x2=42    23x4=92

42+92 = 134 legs

x=goats     y= chikens     goats 4 legs   chickens 2 legs

x+y=44      x=44-y

4(44-y) + 2(y) =134

176-4y +2y = 134

176-2y=134

-2y= -42

-y= -21

y=21

There were 724 zombies that attacked a player in Call of Duty. The player killed 65%. How many zombies did the player kill?
kvasek [131]

Answer:

470 zombies

Step-by-step explanation:

To find how many they killed, multiply 724 by 0.65

724(0.65)

= 470.6

Round down to 470, since there can only be a whole number for zombies

So, the player killed approximately 470 zombies

Can you help me with this word problem?
dangina [55]

Answer:

The ratio of flour to sugar is 2:1

Step-by-step explanation:

Let f = weight of a bag of flour

Let s = weight of a bag of sugar

3f+2s = 32

4f = 32

We have 2 equations and 2 unknowns, we can solve

4f=32

Divide by 4

4f/4 = 32/4

f = 8

Each bag of flour weights 8 pounds

Substitute this back into the first equation

3(8) +2s = 32

24+2s = 32

Subtract 24 from each side

24-24 +2s =32-24

2s = 8

Divide by 2

2s/2 = 8/2

s = 4 pounds

Flours weighs 8 pounds and sugar weights 4 pounds

We want the ratio of flour to sugar

Flour: sugar

8:4

We can divide each side by 4

8/4: 4/4

2:1

You are watering a garden. The height $h$ (in feet) of water spraying from the garden hose can be modeled by $h\left(x\right)=-0
Vladimir79 [104]

Answer:

h(x+1)=-0.1x^2+0.5x+3.6

Step-by-step explanation:

The equation is  h(x)=-0.1x^2+0.7x+3

Where h(x) is the height and x is the distance from where you are standing

The new distance is "1 foot farther from where you are standing" -- so this affects x, which becomes "x+1".

We simply replace x with x +1 in the equation of h(x) and simplify if possible:

h(x)=-0.1(x+1)^2+0.7(x+1)+3\\h(x)=-0.1(x^2+2x+1)+0.7x+0.7+3\\h(x)=-0.1x^2-0.2x-0.1+0.7x+3.7\\h(x)=-0.1x^2+0.5x+3.6

THis is the new function.
